Consortium
for Research on China and
the ChineseNext Meeting
Monday, December 7th. Stephen Reynolds, Professor of Economics and Associate Dean, will speak on: "Regional Trade Agreements in Asia: Asian, China, South Korea and Japan" RSVP at linda.lecheminant@cppa.utah.edu
Mission
The consortium is a group of scholars at the University of Utah linked by a general interest in comparative social and behavioral research that concerns Mainland China, other Asian settings where there is a preponderance of Chinese, such as Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong, and ethnically Chinese people living elsewhere around the world. The goals of the consortium include advancing and promoting social and behavioral research on China and the Chinese, offering a scholarly atmosphere for the discussion, dissemination and presentation of research, making available an environment where scholars can increase their knowledge and understanding of topics related to China and the Chinese through a number of disciplinary perspectives and providing a place through which scholars with common interests can meet and become engaged in research collaborations that are cross-disciplinary and comparative. The consortium welcomes both faculty and graduate students in the College of Social and Behavioral Science and across other colleges. It holds regular meetings organized around research seminars and forums. The consortium is part of the Institute of Public and International Affairs and many of the individuals involved are part of the institute.
