symposia and workshops
that help define the nature
of public issues
and identify
and evaluate solutions. The Siciliano Forum sponsors a lecture series as the main focus of its annual programs. Participants include nationally recognized commentators, public officials, educators, and others qualified to address a specific issue. The topic is woven integrally in to the academic and research curricula of a number of courses of study within fields such as political science, business, economics, ethics, anthropology, education, psychology, environmental studies, sociology, geography, family and consumer studies, sciences, arts, and others when applicable. The lecture series outcomes are presented in academic papers and books.

Each year the Tanner Nonviolent Center proudly hosts a forum of specific interest in the area of peace, nonviolence and human rights. Forum events are held on the campus of the University of Utah, and sponsored by one or multiple departments on campus. The department(s) provide faculty research, papers and symposia to be presented at the forums. In addition, experts in the field from universities across the U.S. and beyond attend and present their research.
